Who And Where We Are We are a family owned and operated commercial worm farm and organic fertiliser producer located on the Queensland Gold Coast. We also have various worm farming joint ventures in the Southern Queensland Region recycling animal manures on farms and green waste from lawn mowing contractors as well as our lawn, turf, garden and agricultural crop microbial worm extract application service.
What We Produce We produce worm derived organic microbial soil improving products as well as the sale of compost worms for home worm farms or organic waste elimination vermiculture ). The main focus of our business is in the production of our actively aerated worm tea enhanced worm cast liquid worm extract and worm compost for application on to local lawns and gardens with our fertiliser application service. We can also provide these products for you to apply to your own grounds if you prefer. Our products are all natural and independently tested by the Soil Food Institute.
Our On Site Lawn And Turf Treatment We are now also offering our on site lawn, turf and garden microbial soil treatment this has been in Research and Development over the last couple of years and now has been perfected without the negative impact chemical fertilizers have on the environment. Public Awareness We are also trying to raise the awareness of the general public into the benefits of using worm derived microbial soil improvers and there benefits to the environment without any negative impact. My Experience I have worked on earth moving equipment in and around landfill sites for over 15 years so I know what sorts of hazards are hidden under our landfill sites. I also have had 4 years working in commercial weed control and saw the results first hand that these chemicals have on the environment. Over the last 5 years we have developed our worm farm and vermiculture operation and products to what we are proud to market today.
Why We Started As a keen fisherman I have watched in horror as our local clean water ways have turned to mud and slowly silted up, our lands changed and destroyed by chemical abuse. I decided that there must be a better way to help the environment recover. So we started to use compost worms to convert our house hold organic waste and to use the natural soil improvers they produced onto our lawns and gardens instead of chemicals. We then started giving away excess compost worms and soil improving products to family and friends. This was the start of Wormtec Worm Farming and Vermiculture. We now assist more people in learning about home worm farming and its benefits to the environment. The more people that start to reduce there waste products and eliminate there chemical use the quicker our environment will improve for us and future generations. Converting Kitchen And Yard Waste We should be putting our organic kitchen and yard waste back into the soil as nature intended. The Worms Role Worms will help us convert all our organic matter into a plant available plant food in the form of worm cast. Worm cast is the product of the worms unique digestive system, converting organic matter into a 100% available plant food that is non-toxic environmentally friendly, safe and odour free.
