Wormtec is looking for another horse property to do a joint venture with on the Gold Coast, we eliminate your harse manure and you allow us to use a small piece of your land to put our worm pits on so that we can eliminate your waste in an environmentally friendly fashion. we produce no waste products noise or dust.
The products we produce from animal manures are sold back into agriculture to rebuild soil health. Our worms will happily consume all your manures, reducing both pathogens and fly problems.

We have spent the weekend expanding our worm farming operation on to another horse property to assist them with there horse manure problems. We found 2 red belled black snakes in our worm pits during the move, and saw numerious other snakes on the day.
Looks like been a really bad year for snakes, when we see this many snakes this early in the season.
Today was Varsity lakes community gardens first birthday their theme was christmas in July, What a great day was had by everyone, It was great to watch the members of this community garden all work together to put on this great first birthday party.

Wormtec had a display at the garden and were visited by most of the community garden member, we talked about how to garden organically, raising brix levels to control pest and disease and how to utilise a worm farm to produce your own soil improving products.
This first birthday was a great success and the barbeque was very popular, I have loved to see the improvements in the garden beds and to see the quality of the produce grown improve over this first year. My family and myself love to visit Varsity vegie and catch up with the members for a chat. Everyone here at Wormtec is look forward to continuing our friendship and support of this great group of members into the future.
Well done to you all at Varsity vegie, You all rock
We had our worm farming workshop today for the Gold Coast Succulent and Bromeliad Society Inc. there was a very good roll up of members for the meeting. We discussed home worm farming and how to produce good quality worm castings for the production of liquid fertilisers.

There were large numbers of Succulents and Bromeliads for sale before the meeting plus all the information you need for growing them, We were made to feel very welcome by this very friendly club and I would recommend this club to anyone interested in these very interesting group of plants.
Its now the time of year to think about getting your vegi garden ready for the summer, so you can grow all your fresh salad add lots of organic matter and manures and let it break down into the soil over the next month ready for your summer planting.
This will supply the plants the energy they require to grow, with out this energy you will end up with slow growing sick plants
If you have no earth worms in your garden add more organic matter to your soil and keep moist, lack of earth worms means you have low soil microbe numbers as this is what the worms feed on, Also by adding synthetic fertilisers to your gardens they also has a negative impact on the soil microbes, so use organic fertilisers not chemical ones.
