Root measuring and core sampling Ph testing.
The students were instructed in the taking of soil core samples, measurement of root systems and how to test soil pH and its effect on soil biology and its effect on plant growth.
We are very lucky to be getting assistance from the Soil Food Web Institute who specialize in testing soils for living biology and the Southern Cross University Environmental Analyse Laboratory who are doing our soil mineral and nutrient testing.
This testing program should let the students watch as the soil changes from chemical enriched soil to a more natural organic soil full of a balance of natural beneficial soil biology and plant available nutrient and minerals.
