Varsity Lakes Community Garden Utilises Wormtec Worm Extract to build Life in there Garden Soils
Wormtec Worm Farming and Vermiculture, has been supplying worm based products to Varsity Lakes Community Gardens for 4 to 5 years now, We are very lucky to be able to work with Shelia and her group of gardeners, we have run quite a few workshops on organic gardening and soil biology at Varsity lakes and even done joint talks at council library’s spreading the word about community gardens and utilising a more social acceptable organic approach to gardening.
Varsity lakes community gardens is totally organic and chemical free, Varsity lakes community garden has 40 vegetable garden beds, including several raised beds for people in wheelchairs, located in Jim Harris Park off Mattocks Rd Varsity Lakes, I highly recommend Varsity Lakes Community garden as a place to have a vegetable garden bed if you have no space at home for a garden, or if your just starting out and would like to learn from more experienced vegetable growers or you would just like to be a social member.
If I am Working around the Varsity Lakes area on a Wednesday I always try to call in for a cuppa Tea with Shelia and her group, As your never too old to learn something new, They are a great group of people and I highly recommend a visit to their organic vegetable garden, either just for a look or to find out what grows best locally or just for a chat, I have made some great friendships at Varsity Vegetables and will continue to assist them whenever they need us or just to call in for a cuppa and a chat.
